He wasn’t a soul reaper to start out with he could just see spirits rukia tried to lend him some of her power put he took it all which is why hes a soul reaper now

Willers ur wrong…he had shinigami powers to start off with… remeber he lost his powers and he got it back in like the episodes where urahara was training him… when he got the hollow powers aswell. urahara said “you dont have anymore shinigami powers, but i belive u might have some still. and ichigo pulled the sword out of the box when he first meet the white him and old man Zangetsu. he already was a shinigami. because his father was.

Yep.He had the spirit energy to use his powers to start with, but he couldn’t utilize them, because he didn’t have a shinigami form, which was the only way to use them.
